SECTION 1
At
Zejtun Primary B we, staff, students and parents, aim to work
together as a team and respect equally every member of our
community. We strive to empower our students to take control of
their own learning thus enabling them to reach their full potential.
We promote values, skills, knowledge and creativity and encourage
our students to develop into reflective, responsible citizens, who
accept consequences for decisions taken. We aim to offer all this in

Since the two major problems
regarding school ethos at Żejtun Primary B were identified early
in the year as (a) the physical environment (b) the problem of a
tendency to bullying both issues were given top priority.
(A) An analysis of the problems with the physical environment was
made. Jobs to deal with this were carried out both by F.T.S. and the
school.
(B) The bullying problem pivoted on two factors
i)
Students with
social/psychological problems at home
ii) Students with tendency to believe might is right.
Regarding this matter agencies
were referred to by the school. A school Counselor was appointed and PSD lessons were introduced in the school. Moreover, regular parents
meetings were organized and the school Assistant Head attended
a course in Quality

Comments on progress achieved
The school as a whole sought to lead
by example. Each member of school staff sought to educate rather
than teach or dictate. Differences of opinion were recognized and
discussed within the limitations of the time factor of a primary
school. Each decision taken always considered the needs of the
children first. Each student mattered.
Special emphasis was awarded to students self-esteem as well as
that of Staff. Initiatives were encouraged. Various professionals
were encouraged to visit school and speak to parents and/or
students.
The Rapport with the Local Community was consolidated. The school
was supported and supported local initiatives. In fact school has
applied for N.C.C. funding for multi-sensory room as a joint effort
with Paolo Friere Institute. School is also contemplating a life
long learning initiative through F.E.S.
Various initiatives were started and shall be sustained during the
