A welcome
note from the College Principal
St Margaret's College is a
network of 7 primary schools and 3 secondary schools in the
Inner Harbour Region of Malta, the biggest of the
archipelago of islands that make up the Maltese nation. It
caters for the towns of Vittoriosa, Senglea, Cospicua,
Kalkara, Xghajra and Zabbar, and has a total student
population of just over 3,000 students. Primary schools in
Malta as mixed gender, whist secondary schools are
segregated by gender. St Margaret's College was
set up in 2006, and is part of the latest educational
reforms in Maltese compulsory education, launched through
the 2006 Education Act. Indeed, all state primary and
secondary schools form 10 Colleges, which have the autonomy
to develop their own educational programmes and ethos
according to the needs of the communities they serve. St
Margaret's College is committed to ensure the fulfillment of
the educational entitlement of each and every child within
its schools, leading to the renewal of the communities it
serves. As the first Principal of the College, I
would like to welcome you to the revamped website of Xghajra
Primary School, one of the most vibrant educational
communities within the College. Enjoy your surfing!

A word from
the headmaster
Welcome to our school website,
designed to provide information about the huge range of
opportunities we offer at this highly successful and
popular primary school in the South of Malta.
Our school motto is "Caring now for future
success" and this underpins everything that we do. This
school was inaugurated in September 1989 and provides an
outstanding environment in which to work and learn.
Excellent
facilities are matched by a positive ethos, outstanding pastoral
care and a wide range of extra-curricular activities for our
pupils. In summary, we aim to create the conditions by
which all our pupils can achieve to the highest level.
Furthermore, it is hoped that this portal will reflect the
everyday activities and aims of the school as described
above. I would be grateful for any
any observations or comments forthcoming from those who
peruse our website. Our final target, after all, is to have
the most successful site possible.
