Design a country.  Consider all the factors  in designing a country - do a CAF. Create a map of your country including natural and man-made features. Also include a scale and a key to any symbols that you use in your map. Give also a brief description of the climate, natural resources, economy and system of government of your country.

 

CAF - factors to think of when designing a country
What are we going to name it? What kind of terrain shall it have?
What shape shall it have? Shall it have mountains?
What size is it going to be? Shall it have plains?
Shall it be an island? What kind of natural resources shall it have?
Shall it be a peninsula? How big is its population?
Shall it be land-locked? What is its population density?
Shall it have a sea-boundary? Shall it have lakes?
What climate shall we give it? Shall it have desert/s?
What kind government shall it have? Shall it have forests?
What is its economy based upon? Shall it have jungle?
How is power generated in this country? Where are we to put its capital city?
What is the name of its capital city? Where are we to put its ports and airports?
What kind of road system does it have? Is it a first, second or third world country?

Design a flag for your country. Do an A.P.C. and think of the choices you could make in designing a flag which best shows the particular character and features of your country.
