years 2.1 2.4 Coloured Salt Jars Year 2.1 (Dragonflies) & Year 2.4 (Butterflies) Midweek Activity: Coloured Salt Jars On Wednesday the 20th of January, the year 2 children made coloured salt jars. For this activity, the pupils needed a packet of salt, some coloured chalk and a small jar. First, the children put some salt on a greaseproof paper. Then they rolled coloured chalk on the salt to change the colour of the salt. The coloured salt was then poured into the jar. The same procedure was repeated using different coloured chalk for each layer. Once the children carried out the activity they felt very proud of their colourful masterpieces!!
