On the occasion of Prize day 2009, which was
held on the 2nd April, the 'Being a Foreigner
Committee' was one amongst many others who presented an item
for this event.
The main aim of this short play namely 'Preziosi
Dance Academy' (which also
included students dancing and singing) was to show the
importance of inclusion and that you cannot
judge people just from the way they look or what country they
come from...because no matter who you are or where you come
from, everyone is a human being and thus deserves a chance!!

On Wednesday 18th March 2009, the Sustainable
Club was involved in preserving different kinds of fruit and
vegetables. After the recycling of jars, which meant
removing the label and washed thoroughly and sterilised, the
preparation of the preserves started. The students made jellies,
jams, preserves, relishes and pickles.
Home preserves are cheaper and undoubtedly superior in quality.
Home preserves limit exposure to chemicals and pesticides.
All the items created made welcome little
gifts that students, parents and teachers alike found them hard
to resist.
On the same day, some students also painted
on recycled jars so as to transform them into vases, cookie
jars, canister sets and other containers. Any profits made from
these items were donated to Angela's House and to our
school.
Another activity involved each class to plant
a tree in memory of the million of children who died in the
second world war. These indigenous trees were donated by Wied
Incita. The students' involvement in planting the
trees and watching them grow encourages ongoing learning about
tolerance and respect.
