Comenius Project
For the years 2005-2008, all pupils at Prof. Ġuze Aquilina Primary School and Special Unit in Sannat will be working on a comenius project regarding the preservation and appreciation of our environment. Our project partners are from Roznava in Slovakia, Crete in Greece, Kirrikale in Turkey and Trieste in Italy. During the first year, the pupils will be looking at what makes our islands beautiful. Through seeing the difference between one country and the other, the pupils will realise that every country's environment is different and unique. Children will investigate pollution and recycling issues in the second year while in the final year, they will be engaged in story-writing, putting on paper what they would like to see in their environment. All the pupils work is published on a common project website from where all the children involved in the project will be able to compare the different types of environment present in each and every project partner's country. By the end of this project, it is hoped that students would have increased their knowledge and appreciation of the environment around us and in our partner countries.
