The School Badge

The school badge was designed by Mr Godwin Xuereb of Rabat. Its background is based on the Maltese flag and the Rabat emblem. The building shown on this badge represents the school as a place of learning. On the other hand, the flame at the top of this building, symbolizes the teaching and learning process together with the formation given to the children attending the school. The two windows shown on the building, represent the girls and boys who attend our school, thus promoting gender and social equality. At the bottom of the badge, one finds a hill which represents Rabat. The Greek symbol "Alpha" (letter "A") shown on this hill, stands for the first letter of the name Alfred Buhagiar. This was done in "red" so as to complete the second part of the name "Alfred". The building is made out of stone - in Maltese called - [a;ar. This forms the last name Buhagiar.

Thus the badge represents:
a.   Rabat (Malta)
b.   the children
c.   the teaching and learning process
d.   the name of the school itself

Last but not least, the badge is a precious memory of Headmaster Alfred Buhagiar who loved Rabat and all the children who attended this school.
