An Electronic Guide to my
City’s Monuments and Places,
is a
Comenius project where the schools: Ninu Cremona Lyceum
Complex, Victoria - Gozo, Malta; Institut
De La Providence ASBL, Brussels -
Belgium; Institut De La Sainte-Famille
d’Helmet, Brussels - Belgium;
Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium, Castrop Rauxel – Germany; Istituto d’Istruzione
Superiore “E. Manfredi” e Tecnica Industriale “G. Marconi”, Lugo – Italy; IPSCTA Giuseppe
Ravizza, Novara – Italy; Zespól Szkól Nr 1
0, Zabrze – Poland; and Instituto
de Ensenanza Secundaria de Arico, Tenerife – Spain; in collaboration with each other launched this
three year project in 2003.
So, 2006 is the final year for this project. During the three years students and
teachers from the various schools worked on the project in their respective
schools and had the opportunity to meet each other in the various schools.
The final visit is to take place in May 2006 in Novara,
Italy. During this visit the teachers
together with the students from the various schools are going to discuss the
three years of the project.
The final product is going to be
an exhibition of the various products done through the years and a ‘European Meal’ of different food brought from
the various countries.
The project has three main aims. After the students introduced
themselves, their respective schools and where they come from, the first aim was
on Monuments and Places of Interests. The participants walked around their
villages and cities and prepared a portfolio of monuments differently from that
seen in a normal book – the main concern here was people and movement.
Here the students introduced their
monuments: their houses, clubs, pubs, restaurants, shopping, etc.

The second aim was that we Understand Diversities. Although we have different cultures,
religions, habits, food, etc. we belong to one Europe.
Our way of living might be totally different from participant countries but
still with our diversities we are one.
Students and teachers in this second year concentrated on Transport and Food,
and prepared various projects.
The third aim is Living with Diversities. So, although we are different we belong (integration) to one
Europe, and thus the European aspect here dominates with the
diversities in our hometowns.
