Our school website - something we have been
planning to have for quite some time - has now become reality! Ġużeppina
Deguara Primary School Marsaxlokk (Malta) is now on the World Wide Web! Well
done and a big thank you to Miss Miriam Grech, one of our own teachers. She
has put her knowledge, acquired during a Diploma in IT in Education
course which she followed at the University of Malta, to very good use
indeed - producing a school website for the ultimate educational good
of our school children. For we hope to utilize this important
educational resource firstly to generate more pupil interest and
motivation in reading and writing as well as to promote IT use amongst
our pupils and teachers. It is hoped that our website will also help
to enhance the pupils' creativity work. With this aim in mind, Ms. Grech has dedicated some pages to the children's work
carried out in various curricular subjects. Children can thus experience a
sense of pride as they see their work uploaded on the school website. All
this stimulates the children's interest to work harder and to perform to
their very best!
We also hope to use the school website to improve school
communication and collaboration with our parents, the community as well as
with other schools - local and foreign. Our forthcoming participation in a
Comenius School Development Project with three other European schools
(Danish, Italian and Welsh) will doubtless be all the richer now that the
school has not only Internet access but also a brand new website to be proud
of.
The school website will hopefully be updated on a regular basis so as to provide
up to date information to all those interested in knowing
more about all the interesting and wonderful things occurring at our school.
Another big 'thank you' to our very capable
webmaster! |
