"Annibale Preca" Primary School is situated in a quiet area in Lija. It has a school population of around 450 children, coming from the villages of Lija, Balzan and Iklin. The age of these children varies from three to eleven years. The school has a staff of around sixty, including administrators, teachers, kindergarten assistants and caretakers.
Lija Primary School takes a decidedly holistic approach to its students' education. Academic achievement is given its due importance but the physical, moral and cultural aspects of children's growth are certainly not neglected. Extracurricular activities are continually going on throughout the year. Many of these activities involve the parents, for the school gives great importance to the participation of parents and the education of the children.
