The subject is an elongated and anorexic female lying in a rather uncomfortable and submissive pose. The naked figure is bathed in strong, selective lighting that exposes sinewy limbs, a sick complexion and a blank face. The only points of reference in the room are a chair and carpet, both suggestively hidden by partial shadows.

Stylistically this work evokes post WW2 theatrical interior design.
