WelcomeThe Primary ICT Support Initiatives are a set of ambitious projects aimed at encouraging ICT use and application across the Primary Curriculum on various levels and resources, including whole-school assistance in pedagogy, individual professional training, provision of hardware and creation and distribution of teaching material. All Initiatives have been launched as pilot projects throughout Scholastic Year 2005-2006. We would here like to thank all those schools who have applied for a Support Initiative. Their cooperation will help us provide more efficient and professional service. Scholastic Year 2007-2008 one2one Phase 5 bookingsYou can start booking online for the Phase 5 session by going to the schedule pages. October timeslots are available only to one2one participants who concluded the training last scholastic year but have not yet covered the Phase 5 session. School Website PoliciesThe Department's School Website Policies have been revised and updated, and are available to download from the Webmaster section. It is vital that College Principals, Heads of School and Webmasters are familiar with these policies. They also provide guidance and hints and tips on managing the school website. Primary School Website StatusA recent survey by the Department of Technology in Education shows that up to August 2007 64% of State Primary Schools (46 out of 72) have a web presence, ie these schools have a fully functional website on the Government’s SchoolNet Server. Only a few of these sites need updating or, in some cases, a complete revision. Schools that do not yet have a web presence are encouraged to put
up a school website. Contact your ICT Peripatetic or Support Teacher
