Village Biscuits (Biskuttini tar-Rahal)

 Village Biscuits

Oven temperature 180˚C/350˚F/GM4

 

Ingredients     250g sifted plain flour

                        100g sugar

                        2 eggs

                        ¾ tablespoon baking powder

                        Ground gloves

                        Vanillina

                        ¼ tablespoon aniseed

                        ¼ tablespoon caraway seeds

                        Grated rind of ½ lemon

                        1 tablespoon semolina

 

Method           (1) Beat the eggs and the sugar together in a bowl until the mixture is thick and light yellow in colour. Add remaining ingredients except the semolina and beat well.

                        (2) Sprinkle some semolina on an oven sheet. Take a spoonful of the mixture and place in a plate full of flour.

                        (3) Roll in your hands after covering it in flour. Put on the oven sheet next to each other, leaving some space apart. Bake for about 20-25 mins.
