Our School is situated in St. Bartholomew Street, not far away from the Parish church.  If one keeps walking down the road to the left, one is greeted with spectacular views of Madliena Valley and the surrounding countryside.

The school is named after poet Karmnu Sant, born in 1876. He was friends with other fellow poets such as Dun Karm Psaila, Patri A. Cuschieri and Ninu Cremona.  It was his wish to provide the children of Għargħur with a place where they could learn to read and write.  In 1919, out of his own will, he opened and financed the first school in Baħar ic-Cagħaq.  Patri A. Cuschieri paid a visit to the school, thus earning it formal recognition from the government.
